Leave the hurried world behind on this journey to the heart of timeless storytelling. We'll channel the of components of “place” to learn what makes a story so compelling that it resonates for generations. Through ancient ruins, mythology, good food, and nature, we'll learn how to strike the strongest chords in our own tales. This time of year marks the best weather, with both the sea and air temperature being an average of 79 degrees in early October!
What we'll do
BY LAND
We'll spend five nights at a special 10-acre epicurean mountain retreat in Olympos, a region with deep history spanning thousands of years. Mornings begin with yoga and a walking meditation to waterfalls and inspirational viewpoints, followed by a writing lesson, quiet creative time, and immersive cultural activities. Evenings conclude with a daily-changing seasonal gastronomic tasting menu by a renowned chef, followed by sharing stories around a fire.
BY SEA
After the mountains, we embark on a traditional wooden "gulet"—a Turkish ship used for centuries and a famed vessel of creative inspiration for Turkish writers and artists. We'll learn about the maritime history of this practice and tap into the seafaring stories that have been told for centuries along this stunning coastline. Swimming in crystal clear turquoise water and stargazing from the bow are the perfect source of inspirational.
